It depicts the very first gold medal with phoenix of modern Olympics from Athens 1986. The phoenix became the symbol of restoration of sport movement as sign of peace. Its origin is traced to the Late Paleolithic when the bird described observations of total solar eclipse as rebirth of the solar god.
