Small mintage: 45000! Interesting base denomination of Victoria (1837‑1901) coinage in collectible condition struck in London. The country was just gifted by Turkey for help in war against Russia. It was decided to strike own coins but at the beginning only copper, making this base denomination the biggest in circulation. Silver was added, but only next century with specially designed portrait. Due to small mintage and lack of silver the coin circulated intensively during almost hundred years. This is a standard policy of this metropolis with respect to oversees possessions: the crown demonstrated lack of care, as the result most of coins became hardly worn. The collectors these days put in collection any available specimen hoping to substitute in by better (if any) in future.
