Interesting old large coin issued by rebels in nice condition. The coin indicates large face value 1 fen, which in fact is measurement in silver. Being powerful and mighty Wu Sangui organized the accession of the new dynasty Qing (1644-1912). When the second Qing emperor Kangxi (1661-1722) decided to restrict the power of local princes in southern provinces, he together with 2 other generals of Ming dynasty rebelled. The rebellion (1673-1681) was long enough to permit all 3 feudatories issue coins. In 1673 Wu Sangui proclaimed a new dynasty Zhou 周. Next year in 1674 he adopted the title Liyong (Profitable Use) and ruled till his death from dysentery in 1678. Pretty desirable coin, which is not so often on market.
